Young pelicans are herded into a pen on the shores of  Gunnison Island in the Great Salt Lake on Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017. Thousands of pelicans nest on the difficult to reach island in the north arm of the lake. The island has been used as a nesting sight for birds since predators can't accesss the rocky shores. However, recent drops in the lake level have allowed coyotes to make their way out from the mainland.
