Antelope Island Bison

I went out to Antelope Island over the weekend looking for bighorn sheep. It was a beautiful day with zero sheep sightings, but I did find some rather photogenic bison. After recent trips to photograph the bison round-up and bison research projects, it has been a while since I was just shooting shots without human interaction. Enjoy.

Antelope Island Sunrise

I was meeting with some biologists on Antelope Island for a story on mule deer this morning (photos coming soon) and on the way, the morning sun hit Frary Peak. This is one of my favorite places in Northern Utah to watch the sunrise.

Color From Canyonlands

Earlier this week, I posted a black and white photo from Canyonlands National Park. As promised, here are some more images from our recent trip down there. As much as I love black and white landscapes, there are few things in nature with the amazing natural color of Southern Utah at sunrise and sunset.

Hell's Hollow in the Fall

Ben Lomond After the Snow

Despite the warm temperatures in town, we got a dusting of snow in the mountains in Northern Utah last night. I got this photo of Ben Lomond Peak just after sunrise this morning.

Willard Peak

Yesterday I hiked Willard Peak and Ben Lomond north of Ogden for a story at the paper. The story is out next week, but on the way back, I shot a few photos for myself. Enjoy.

Early Morning

I wasn't planning on photographing anything this morning. However, when I stepped outside, it was too nice of a morning to pass up. I ended up running a mile through our neighbor's pasture to try and get to the wide valley in the second photo before the fog burned off and the sun got too high. Overall, a good way to start the morning.

Rainbow Basin

This is a quick teaser of what will be coming on the blog. I'm wrapping up my last day in California shooting for the Center for Plant Conservation. I'll be posting more photos in the coming days, but for now I just wanted share this picture from this morning.
