Yesterday I was photographing ice cream for a light feature on summer weather. Today I was photographing the aftermath of a crashed semi full of ice cream. Yesterday was certainly more uplifting.
More photos can be found here and an article is here.

Summer Feature
I went out hunting yesterday to try and find a photo to go with a story one the heat wave predicted for Utah later in the week. After several failed attempts of shooting on the rivers, I came across some folks at Farr's Ice Cream and got this image.

Supermoon
In case you missed it, tonight was the "supermoon." If nothing else, it was a good excuse to run all over town catching the moon as it rose over different ridges on Mount Ogden. Enjoy.

High School Rodeo
I recently went out to photograph the Utah State High School Rodeo Finals in Heber City. A few of the highlights from the morning are below and you can see a larger slideshow here. Enjoy.

Phone and Fire
There's a first time for everything. For all of the camera equipment I have for work, I had my first cell phone photo published in print this week. While going on a coffee run (without out my camera, foolishly), I passed an alley with smoke pouring out of it. I looped back to find an industrial dumpster on fire. After calling the fire department I shot a few photos and the nest day this image ended up in the paper. Ironically, I shot several assignments that day and the only one that was immediately published was the phone photo.

Joe's Walk for Change
This story was published a week ago, but it seemed right to re-post for Father's Day. I recently met with a man, Joe Bell, who is walking across the country. The trip is Joe's way to honor his teenage son Jadin, who committed suicide earlier in the year. Jadin died after dealing with extensive bullying and homophobia and Joe is using his walk as a way to start discussions about suicide prevention, bullying, and homophobia. You can read the whole article and find more photos here and follow Joe's progress on his facebook page here.
